As an NCO in the Military, I learned that if my subordinates were having a bad day, then I was having a bad day. Their problems were my problems, because if left unchecked they became the organizations problems. So I invested a lot of time learning who was married, who was going through a divorce, who had kids and how many. Which one of them was having money troubles, which one needed someone to talk to. I didn't always get it right. But the only way to always get it wrong is to not ask. #learning #money #leader
